    New Pasadena Quarantine Protocols

Unvaccinated individuals on quarantine are advised to seek testing for COVID-19 on or after day five from the last time they were exposed to the infected person. If the result of this viral diagnostic test is negative and they remain asymptomatic, they may return to campus on or after day 8 from last exposure. If they choose to not seek testing, they may return on or after day 11 from last exposure if asymptomatic. If Cal/OSHA requirements are more strict for employees, follow those directives.

    Dear Mayfield Community,

Yesterday afternoon we were informed that a Mayfield Kindergarten community member tested positive for COVID-19.
    How We Are Responding
Mayfield immediately initiated our exposure management plan, following established protocols defined by public health agencies in response to a confirmed COVID-19 case. All affected campus spaces were deep cleaned. We have informed the Pasadena Public Health Department, launched a review, and initiated contact tracing.
Per CDC guidelines, our community member is self-isolating at home. We immediately notified Kindergarten families to stay home today and shifted instruction to Forward Remote. We informed the Mayfield community of the positive test.

    Hello Mayfield Families,
We have received more updated COVID-19 information on health and safety recommendations for schools from the city of Pasadena. The recommendations will continue to change. As we have consistently done throughout the pandemic, Mayfield will continue to follow the Pasadena Public Health Department’s (PPHD) recommendations to determine health and safety protocols for our school community.
    • We all agree that it is essential for our children to be in school, in person. At this time, we are not offering a remote option.
    • Students who are immunocompromised or otherwise unable to participate in on-campus learning may enroll in Independent Study. Independent Study is a program administered by our Learning Center and Student Support Team for students who are unable to attend school during the regular school day for health-related or other reasons that do not permit them to complete their learning in person.
    • For more information about this option, contact the appropriate division director, Mrs. Beth Dorr for Grades K-4, and Mrs. Bridget Kelley-Lossada for Grades 5-8.
