    Dear Mayfield Families,

In order to continue with our weekly testing plan (introduced in last Friday’s communication), tomorrow January 14 we will be sending one test kit per student home with the oldest (or only) student at school.

FAQ’s for COVID-19 testing the week of January 17

Q: Who will receive a COVID-19 test kit?
A: If you have one student attending MJS, they will receive a test kit. If you have multiple students, the oldest sibling will receive the test kits for the entire family.

Q: What if my child/ren are absent?
A: If your child/ren do not have siblings, we will have a drive-thru Friday afternoon, January 14, from 3:00-4:00 p.m in the North parking lot outside the Holy Child Chapel. Please enter from Waldo Avenue.

Q: What if I have one child on campus and the other child is absent?
A: All necessary test kits will be sent home with one of the absent student’s siblings.

Q: When should students take the test?
A: We are requiring that students test only once due to the shortened week, either Monday night, or Tuesday morning before school. For your convenience, the instructions on how to perform the rapid test are linked HERE.

We are implementing some changes for the next few weeks.

    Our Protocols Are Working

Thank you for your tremendous support of our health and safety protocols, for your partnership, and for your honest and open communication. Our COVID-19 protocols are effective because of your collaboration and your continued support of our community. This week, 4.6% of students (24) and 4% of faculty and staff (4) tested positive for COVID-19. We know the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is highly transmissible, but these rates are far below the current county average of 21.9% of those tested.
