A Changing Campus: 1975-1993

The layout and face of the campus began to change again significantly in the 1980s. The Pike Learning Center was added to the center of the campus in 1983 and in 1988 the Junior Building was remodeled providing a new computer lab and additional office space. In 1981, Mayfield Junior School joined with Mayfield Senior School to celebrate the 50th Golden Jubilee. Outreach efforts continued as students traveled to Tijuana to assist Holy Child Sisters, and committed their time and service to M.E.N.D. in Pacoima. Academic classes were creative and hands-on as students dissected frogs, glued chicken bones together for the infamous chicken projects, and built California Missions out of sugar cubes. Students worked together photographing and producing an annual yearbook and journalism classes published quarterly newsletters such as The Campus Quarterly and The Mustang Beat.
