Forward On Campus Update | April 12, 2021

April 12, 2021

Dear Families,

We hope that the Easter break was restorative to you and your family!  The weather has been beautiful and lovely.  We are writing today to provide you with good news for our 7th-8th grade students.

We have been made aware of new changes from the state and local authorities that will allow the 7th-8th students to be on campus at 100% capacity.  Some of the adjustments that were made and adopted by state and local authorities include: 3’ distance between persons (4’ between desks) and, an entire grade level may be considered one cohort.  We will begin bringing students back early next week.

Student schedules will remain the same for the remainder of the year, including the early dismissal on Friday afternoons.

The same Health & Safety guidelines continue to apply every day for all students:
  • wellness check each morning before entering campus
  • frequent hand-washing/sanitizing
  • mask-wearing all-day
  • eating outside for break and lunch

Important Details:
  • 7th-8th grade students may begin returning to campus each day beginning next TUESDAY, APRIL 20.
  • This applies to those students whose family has indicated they will be ON-CAMPUS for SESSION 3. To begin attending daily, there is nothing more you need to do.
  • If you would like your child/ren to return to campus in light of this new information, you may opt to return to campus in the next session (Session 4) which begins on Monday, May 10. The Declaration of Intent for Session 4 will be sent out next Monday, April 19.
  • If this information causes you to want to return to Forward Remote, please inform us by 5:00pm this Wednesday, April 14 by sending an email to Ms. Sara Torres at storres@mayfieldjs.org so we can make the necessary cohort adjustments.
