MJS Alumna Honored with 2022 Holy Child Spirit Award

The Society of the Holy Child Jesus announced this month Mayfield Junior School alumna, Marina Alma Marmolejo ’09 is the 2022 Holy Child Spirit Award recipient.  

The annual Holy Child awards recognize individuals who hand on the spirit of Venerable Cornelia Connelly, foundress of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, and live the Holy Child tradition of service to “meet the wants of the age.”

The SHCJ chose Marina for her work helping vulnerable communities. Marina is an anti-poverty advocate and currently manages a rental assistance program for residents financially impacted by COVID-19. She exemplifies the characteristics of service unique to the Holy Child tradition of justice, action, zeal, and compassion. Marina is also the founder and CEO of DreamKit, an app that supports unstably housed youth under 25 in New Haven, Connecticut. In early 2020, Marina visited campus to share her inspiring journey with students.
