Kierra-Kaitlyn Moore ’07

Kierra-Kaitlyn Moore is a third generation realtor in both California and Georgia. She has run a real estate investment business specializing in home renovations since 2019 in Atlanta.

What have you done (personally and professionally) since you graduated from Mayfield?

I studied English at Howard University, returned to California to work in cyberspace/cyber security doing inside sales and then moved to Atlanta to try something new. I have had my own real estate business in Georgia for a few years now and I really enjoy the flexible schedule the work allows, and the opportunity to build relationships with clients.

What is your favorite Mayfield memory?
Grandparents Day was a favorite event and I have great memories of a a class trip to France.

What advice would you share with current Mayfield students?
Follow your passions. I have always been creative and independent - I liked doing things in my own time. Becoming an entrepreneur was inevitable, honestly. I found something I love doing that brings me joy each day. Stick to what you love and your career will unfold from there. It is okay to move to the beat of your own drum.

If you could go back to MJS, what grade would you do over again and why?
4th Grade - Mrs. Hermanson was so nice and motherly.

How has your Mayfield education influenced who you've become- personally and professionally?
MJS allowed me to explore many subjects and activities to find my interests and talents. I learned I like art and science more than sports.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
I am very proud of my move across the country for college. I left almost everything and everyone I knew and started over. Doing this at 18 gave me the courage to move back fearlessly at 22. If I have never left home, I have no idea where I would be today.

What is your favorite quote or saying you find meaningful?
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is my favorite quote of all time. I ran across it when I was in 6th grade and it stuck with me. I was bullied quite a bit over the years but always stayed true to who I was because I knew that I loved who I was and my opinion mattered. My parents reassured me that being me was always enough.

Favorite book / author?
Force of Habit and Breaking into the Boys Club

Favorite snack as a kids- plus do you still enjoy it today?
Cheezitz! I will still finish a box in a few days.

Last thing you Googled?
How to make oat milk!
