Dear Mayfield Families,
Our Protocols Are Working
Thank you for your tremendous support of our health and safety protocols, for your partnership, and for your honest and open communication. Our COVID-19 protocols are effective because of your collaboration and your continued support of our community. This week, 4.6% of students (24) and 4% of faculty and staff (4) tested positive for COVID-19. We know the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is highly transmissible, but these rates are far below the current county average of 21.9% of those tested.

Our goals are to continue to keep all in our community as safe as possible, and to have our children learning in person at school. We are implementing some changes for at least the next few weeks. Please carefully review the following:

Complete Rapid Tests on Monday and Wednesday Mornings Before School
- (2) Rapid tests will be sent home today (and every Friday) with each student present at school today.
- Drive-Thru for students who did not attend school today
- Parents may pick-up (2) rapid tests at a drive-thru in the North Parking Lot from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
- Please have each child complete (1) rapid test on Monday morning and (1) rapid test on Wednesday morning BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR SCHOOL.
- Instructions for the rapid test can be found HERE.
- Please notify the school ONLY IF YOUR CHILD(REN) TESTS POSITIVE, and KEEP THEM HOME FROM SCHOOL.
- Promptly email POSITIVE test results on Monday and Wednesday mornings to health@mayfieldjs.org.
Weekly Testing Clinics
COVID-19 testing will also continue to be offered through Heluna Health for MJS students, faculty, and staff on Mondays from noon to 3 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff must be registered prior to arrival to participate. Register here. The clinic is walk-up; no appointment is necessary.

Upgraded Masks
- We strongly encourage all students to upgrade their masks from cloth to KN95 or KF94 masks.
- If KN95 or KF94 type masks are not available, we strongly encourage students to wear triple-layered, surgical masks.
- We have ordered child-size KF94 masks to make available for those students who need them. They will be available next week. We also have 3-ply masks in stock for any student who may like one.
Accurate & Up-to-Date Vaccination Status
- It is important that student vaccination statuses are accurate and up-to-date. Please email health@mayfieldjs.org.
Daily Health Screening
- It is important to complete your child’s daily health screening in the SchoolPass app every day they attend school.
- Please keep your child(ren) home from school if they are experiencing ANY symptoms.
