8th Graders Go Totally 80s!

It was a flashback to the 1980s as Mayfield Junior School’s eighth grade class presented “Totally 80s: Rock + Roll Playwriting” to capacity crowds on May 21 and 22. This year rather than selecting a show from a catalog, the students, under the direction of drama teacher Randi Goodman, created their very own show. In groups of 6-8, the eighth graders wrote short plays around popular songs of the 1980s. The result was a “totally rad” musical highlighting the music, fashion and distinctive slang associated with the era.
