Affording a Mayfield Education


A Mayfield Junior School education is an investment in your child’s future. Tuition assistance is available for selected qualifying applicants. We urge you not to let the cost of tuition prevent you from applying to Mayfield Junior School.

The cost of providing a Mayfield education to one student is actually greater than tuition. To make up the difference, Mayfield relies upon the Annual Fund and the School’s Endowment. Current and former parents, alumni, grandparents and friends contribute to Mayfield’s Annual Fund and Endowment. Every gift helps to keep tuition as low as possible while also providing the excellent opportunities afforded to enrolled students.

Tuition Payment Options

We know that paying tuition is different for every family. You have options at Mayfield that are outlined below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

An initial tuition payment of 10 percent of tuition is required each year to reserve a space. This payment is due when you enroll or reenroll, and is applied to tuition in the new academic year.

Tuition may be paid using one of four payment plans:
  • Annual payment (100% due on August 1)
  • Semi-annual payments (60% on August 1 and 40% on January 1)
  • 7-Pay Monthly (Monthly payments August - February)
  • 10-Pay Monthly (Monthly payments May - February)

Tuition Assistance

We understand that meeting the tuition obligation at Mayfield Junior School creates a challenge for many families. To assist those in need, Mayfield’s Board of Trustees sets aside funds each year for tuition assistance.

In the 2018-19 school year, Mayfield is providing tuition assistance to 24 percent of our students, with awards that range from 10 to 95 percent of tuition.

Determining an annual assistance award is directly tied to establishing the demonstrated financial need of each family. While family income is significant, we recognize that there are many other indicators to consider. To help evaluate demonstrated need, Mayfield processes all applications through Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), a service of Independent School Management.
