Q: What if my student is in quarantine or isolation?
A: Students in quarantine/isolation do not need a test kit. Per Pasadena guidelines, students may end quarantine/isolation after 5 days if they test negative for COVID-19. The test must be administered at a licensed test site or at MJS. Test kits administered at home are not allowed. If the student does not take a test, their quarantine/isolation will end after 10 days.
Q: What if my student tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days?
A: Two weeks after ending isolation, you should begin testing regularly again. PCR tests can be positive for up to 90 days after isolation, so it is advised to use rapid tests during that period.
Q: What should I do with the test results?
A: Please email positive results to health@mayfieldjs.org. If your child is positive, or showing any signs of illness, please keep them home.
Q: What if a student will not be at school next week?
A: When not attending school in person, a student does not need to take or submit tests.
