Earth Day Adventures
MJS celebrated Earth Day by exploring the diverse natural world right here in Southern California. Students traveled to nature preserves such as the Sepulveda Wildlife Basin, Topanga State Park and Madrona Marsh as well as educational institutions such as the California Science Center and Wildlife Learning Center. In a rare combined grade level field trip, the kindergarteners and their sixth grade KPals enjoyed the morning together exploring spring in the gardens of the Arboretum. From learning about animals, habitat and ecosystems to celebrating the National Parks 100th anniversary by viewing a feature IMAX film, each trip was an opportunity to appreciate our world and learn more about protecting its many wonders.
