California Missions and More!
Melodrama, intrigue, struggle, success and Gold! California history has it all! The 4th grade presented the story of our great state in “California Missions and More!” The play, which highlights the 4th grade social studies curriculum takes the audience to a 1920s soundstage. Director JB and a cast of characters bring history to life, from the fate of the Native American tribes and the building of the missions through the gold rush and western expansion and finally statehood. With a little square dancing as a grand finale it was quite a performance!
The play was adapted and expanded from an original play by Ron Fink and John Heath by MJS teachers David Hemak and Lisa Byrne.
